This includes routine laboratory testing and for some patients imaging of the liver every 6 months.  Documenting and monitoring health of the liver is of utmost importance as it is a vital organ.

This Diagnosis is made by blood testing.  Liver biopsy is done for patient who would be interested in pursuing Hepatitis C treatment.  Biopsy will give information to determine if the patient should pursue treatment.  New treatments are shorter in duration, generally well tolerated, and are very effective at eradicating the Hepatitis C virus.
